1. Information we collect

We collect no personal information. Fair Rent Split does not ask for your name, email address, phone number, payment information, or any other identifying details.

The numbers you enter into the calculator (rent amounts, room sizes, features) are processed entirely within your web browser. They are never transmitted to our servers or any third party.

2. Local storage

Fair Rent Split uses your browser's localStorage to save two things:

• —Your calculation state — so you can close and reopen the tab without losing your inputs.
• —Your theme preference (light or dark mode) — so the site remembers your display preference.

This data never leaves your device. You can clear it at any time by clearing your browser's site data, or by resetting the calculator.

3. Shareable links

When you use the "Copy Share Link" feature, your calculation is encoded directly into the URL as a query string. No data is stored on our servers to enable this — the link itself contains everything needed to reconstruct the calculation. Anyone you share the link with will be able to see the figures you entered.

4. Analytics and tracking

Fair Rent Split does not use analytics software, advertising trackers, or behavioural tracking of any kind. We do not use cookies for tracking purposes. We do not use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, or similar services.

5. Third-party services

Fair Rent Split loads fonts from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com). When your browser requests these fonts, Google may log your IP address as part of standard server logging. This is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

We use no other third-party services.

6. Children's privacy

Fair Rent Split is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children. Because we collect no personal information from anyone, there is no specific risk here — but if you believe a child has submitted information, please contact us.

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects when changes were last made. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
